Second teen dies following weekend crash in Cockeysville
Andrew Sober, a 16-year-old student who loved playing the guitar and soccer, died of injuries sustained in a crash in Cockeysville that also killed a passenger and injured two other teenagers, family and community members said on social media.
On Sunday, the makeshift memorial at the site of a car crash at the intersection of Poplar Hill Road and Merrymans Mill Road in Cockeysville; car shrapnel and heavy tire marks are still visible near the tree. The crash, which happened on Friday night, left three minors injured and one adult dead.

An army of ticks is sending more Marylanders to the ER
Across the country, emergency department visits for tick bites are up more than 25% from last year, according to federal data. Maryland and other northeastern states are looking like ground zero.

Despite its name, the bacteria pathogen that causes Lymes comes from mice. 

ER visits from tick bites are at a record high in the U.S., according to the CDC. Those numbers are unclear within Maryland, because there is not enough research funding for experts to conduct surveillance in Maryland on ticks.
