The Naval Academy, which suspended general visitation after the start of the U.S.-Iran war, is easing some of the security restrictions it had imposed.
General visitation will resume Monday, according to Naval Support Activity Annapolis. Thatβs just in time for Commissioning Week, including the Herndon Climb and Blue Angels show.
Some additional security measures remain in place, including a restriction on foreign nationals visiting, an βincreased security postureβ and the suspension of the Trusted Traveler program.
Only Gate 1, which is behind Prince Georgeβs Street, is open for general visitors. Visitors may also walk through Gate 8, on Bowyer Road, if they are attending a ticketed event (and have a ticket).
All visitors need to bring a REAL ID-compliant driverβs license or state ID card, or a U.S. passport or passport card.
The modifications mean Greenbury Point is reopened for general visitors, too.

Commissioning Week
Commissioning Week at the Naval Academy is always a busy time in Annapolis.
It begins Monday, with the Herndon Climb at 8 a.m. The Blue Angelsβ flight demonstration is scheduled for May 20, and graduation is May 22 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
The city of Annapolis warned on social media that there will likely be increased traffic, especially downtown and near the Naval Academy.
Officials also asked that residents give grace to out-of-town visitors, βwho may be unfamiliar with our roads.β
