    A Prince George’s County corrections officer died on New Years Eve after his pickup truck went off the road and crashed into a pole in Crofton, police said.
    Master Corporal John Nicholson died after his truck veered off the highway and crashed into a pole on Dec. 31 - the same day he retired as a correctional officer with Prince George's County Department of Corrections.
