    Mount Vernon’s long wait for a revived Eddie’s grocery store continues
    The Mount Vernon-Belvedere Association and Jubilee Baltimore announced that even though Eddie’s, under redevelopment for two years, is “fully ready for grocery use,” it now needs a new operator.
    Eddie's of Mount Vernon, which was expected to open in July 2024, remains under renovations.

    Strangers and friends alike gathered at the Meyerhoff Building at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County to write letters and share Anicoche’s story in hopes the attention will help bring her home.
    Chantal Anicoche, a 24-year-old graduate from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, went to the Philippines on December 2025 to learn about indigenous communities in Mindoro. No one has heard from her since the Armed Forces of the Philippines conducted a military attack on the region. She is currently in military custody.
