No one is safe from catching stray shade on “The Real Housewives of Potomac.” Apparently, not even Bowie.
On the latest episode of the Bravo reality series, cast member Karen Huger invited the friend group to celebrate her release from prison for a D.U.I. with a spa-day party — one themed after “The Color Purple,” no less.
The cast’s reactions weren’t kind to Prince George’s County’s largest municipality.
“Where are we?”
“Why am I in a strip mall in Bowie?”
“I feel like I’m gonna get my blood drawn. It’s the phlebotomist’s office.”
Producers sensed an opportunity to rub some salt in the Washington, D.C., suburb-sized wound with an animated map to drive home the implied shade that Potomac and Bowie may be closer in proximity than style.
Gizelle Bryant provided the commentary as the map hit the screen.
“Potomac is here with, like, flowers and grass that’s cut, and then Bowie is allllll the way over here,” Bryant said. “I don’t know what the landscaping is over here. No shade to Bowie, I’m just sayin.’”
While the cast quickly moved on from the Bowie condescension, Sunday’s episode spent more time with Wendy Osefo, the ex-Johns Hopkins assistant professor who, along with husband Edward “Eddie” Osefo, is headed to trial for insurance fraud next year.
A Carroll County grand jury indicted the Osefos in October, charging them with seven counts of insurance fraud, eight counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud and one count of making a false statement to a police officer.
In 2024, the couple told a sheriff’s deputy that thieves stole $450,000 worth of designer handbags and jewelry from their Finksburg home while they were on vacation. The couple later submitted claims to three separate insurance companies. On May 20, the trial was set for Jan. 25-29, 2027.
On Sunday’s episode, Osefo began to cry when she mentioned the May court appearance, which had yet to occur at the time of filming, to her mother. The court case has brought the two women closer together, Osefo noted. Last season they fought frequently.
“I just don’t like how this situation has impacted so many people,” Osefo said. “It’s like the darkest moment in my life, you know? I just thank God because there were moments where I thought it would kill me.”

Of course, other cast members weighed in on the drama.
Tia Glover, now in her second season, asked Bryant why she isn’t supportive of Osefo, who joined the cast in 2020, during her legal troubles.
“If it were me, Wendy would run me down to the ground. Abso-freaking-lutely,” Bryant replied.
So, Glover asked: Has Bryant already experienced that firsthand with Osefo? “I’m not a scammer. I’m not a criminal, so I haven’t given her that to give,” Bryant said.
Bryant wasn’t done making her point. “Do I feel like slamming this in Wendy’s face? No! I don’t need to kick Wendy when she’s down. She down! All the way on the ground, laying flat. Starfish,” she said, spreading her arms out wide.
Will the women put their pettiness aside in the name of female camaraderie?
Come on, this is “RHOP,” which has chronicled the various dramas of its glamorously messy cast across 11 seasons and counting.
The episode ends with a preview of Sunday’s next installment, including a confrontational clip between Osefo and Bryant. Whether Bowie is the butt of any more jokes, however, remains to be seen.
