Your eyes are not deceiving you. Maryland is experiencing all seasons this week, from pleasant weather in the 80s to thunderstorms — and now snow.

The same cold front that brought severe thunderstorms and power outages to the region Wednesday night is sticking around through early next week.

Temperatures fell significantly throughout the day on Thursday. It was around 57 degrees before sunrise, but temperatures across Maryland dropped to just below freezing by 1 p.m.

Much of Central Maryland is under a hazardous weather outlook Thursday because of continued strong winds and snow.

Little accumulation is expected, said Andrew Snyder, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service’s Baltimore/Washington office, though some slush is possible on grassy and elevated surfaces — no more than half an inch, he said.

The weather will warm slightly into the 50s during the weekend, with breezy conditions on Friday and partly sunny weather on Saturday.

Still, while the rest of the week will be colder than the record-high warmth the region saw earlier this week, temperatures are slightly above normal for this time of year, Snyder said.

Saturday and Sunday will see highs of 56 and 58, and the average high for March is 53.
