Ravens rookie wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane will be placed on injured reserve after undergoing wrist surgery, coach Jesse Minter said Wednesday, sidelining him for at least a month.

Lane, a training camp standout who played 27 snaps and had a catch for 11 yards in his NFL debut Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, appeared to hurt his wrist in the second quarter of the Ravens’ win.

Lane will miss at least four games while on IR, meaning he can return no earlier than the Week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns.

“I know he’ll be chomping at the bit to get back,” Minter said.

With Lane sidelined and Zay Flowers considered day-to-day after aggravating a hamstring injury at Lucas Oil Stadium, the Ravens will need their receiving corps to step up in Sunday’s home opener against the New Orleans Saints.

When Flowers was on the field, quarterback Lamar Jackson averaged 18 yards per attempt, was pressured on just 36.4% of his drop-backs and wasn’t sacked, according to Sports Info Solutions. With Flowers off the field, Jackson averaged a still-impressive 10.3 yards per attempt, but his pressure rate jumped to 50% and his sack rate rose to 11.1%.

Flowers, despite missing the second half, led all receivers with five catches for 150 yards and a touchdown in the win. Bateman had no catches. Wide receiver Chris Moore, a practice squad call-up, was second on the team with 53 yards. Wide receivers Devontez Walker and rookie Elijah Sarratt could both make their season debut Sunday. A groin injury sidelined Walker last week.

“I will say, Zay was down during camp at some point, [and] guys stepped in and did what they were supposed to do,” Jackson said. “Coach [Minter] always overemphasized that as well. You do not know what can happen with one of our guys, and someone might have to step up. I feel like ‘Bate’ has already been out there, but ‘Tay’ [LaJohntay Wester], ‘Tez’ [Devontez Walker], Chris Moore, those guys are going to step in. Elijah [Sarratt], those guys are going to step up and do what they are supposed to do. ... I have no doubt in my mind about our guys. They have been showing it throughout camp.”

Minter did not provide an update on cornerback TJ Tampa, another camp standout and a core special teams player, who left the Colts game in the first quarter with a knee injury. His last play was a kick coverage rep.
