Four key Ravens players returned for the team’s final practice before Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints after missing the first two days due to injuries.
Left tackle Ronnie Stanley was the last offensive lineman to join the group as they prepared for practice, but he was in full uniform. He sat out Wednesday and Thursday with a toe injury. He will be important in protecting quarterback Lamar Jackson as he searches for targets with two receivers potentially out.
His top target, wide receiver Zay Flowers, suffered a hamstring injury in the Week 1 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Flowers did not participate in the first two practices but was dressed and on the field Friday.
The Ravens will already be without rookie receiver Ja’Kobi Lane, who was placed on injured reserve after undergoing wrist surgery and will miss at least a month.
Left guard John Simpson, who will be important in helping the run game get going, was dealing with a groin injury during the first two days of practice. He was one of the first linemen to hit the field Friday.
Outside linebacker Trey Hendrickson, the Ravens’ biggest signing of the offseason, worked out separate from the team for the first two days with a finger injury. He also returned to practice Friday.
Cornerback T.J. Tampa was the only active player who remained missing.
Returning to practice doesn’t guarantee these four starters will contribute Sunday, since Friday practices are typically lighter and not a great indication of readiness. The Ravens will release a final injury report Friday afternoon.
