Zay Flowers burst out of the gate with 150 yards in the first 28 minutes and 28 seconds of the Ravens’ 2026 NFL season. With five catches and a touchdown, he helped the Ravens take a 28-13 lead over the Indianapolis Colts before he left the game with a hamstring injury.

The Ravens ruled him out heading into the fourth quarter with their lead at 31-16. Flowers dealt with the same injury throughout training camp.

Head coach Jesse Minter said Monday that Flowers is day-to-day.

“Feel pretty good about where that’s at,” Minter said. “We’ll see how the week goes, though.”

Flowers, who signed a four-year, $140 million contract extension in August, is one of two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson’s favorite targets. He’s had two 1,000-yard seasons in three years.

New coordinator Declan Doyle and the offense adjusted with Flowers out, but they lost rookie wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane shortly after.

Technically No. 3 on the depth chart, Lane was the only receiver other than Flowers with multiple targets to that point. He left with a fractured wrist, according to NFL Network.

Minter said Lane injured his wrist earlier in the game, but he didn’t feel it immediately. After the game, he was using only his right hand in the locker room. His other arm was hidden under the front of his sweatshirt and not in the sleeve.

Minter did not confirm Lane’s specific injury but said the rookie will go through further testing.

“Ja’Kobi may be a little bit longer,” Minter said. “We’re getting some more things looked at right now and talking to different people.”

Minter gave a similar update on cornerback TJ Tampa, who left the game within the first three minutes and was quickly ruled out with a knee injury. Despite the speed with which the team pulled Tampa from the game, Minter said they’re still evaluating how serious it is.

“It could be a little bit more than a week, it could be more than that,” Minter said.

Tampa had only taken special teams snaps in those first minutes. On defense, Minter rotated in veteran cornerback Chidobe Awuzie and second-year cornerback Keyon Martin on the inside.

On offense, with both Flowers and Lane out, the Ravens were left with just three active wide receivers: Rashod Bateman, LaJohntay Wester and Chris Moore.

The offense was able to maintain the lead for the win, but Minter didn’t rule out the possibility of adding another receiver with two players dealing with injuries. He expressed confidence in the two receivers who were on the inactive list: rookie Elijah Sarratt and Devontez Walker, who was out with a groin injury.

“Those guys have a ton of reps in our offense,” Minter said. “... Those two guys have a real opportunity to get themselves into the boat, get themselves in rhythm. And then we’ll look at all options, obviously, to figure out what’s best for the 70 guys we have available if you talk about the 53[-man roster] and the practice squad.”
