Two people were shot and killed and a third was left in critical condition in two separate incidents Tuesday in Prince George’s County, police said.

County police officers responded just before 2 a.m. to the first incident on the 8100 block of 15th Avenue in Langley Park. They found two young women suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the teens was pronounced dead on the scene, and the other was transported to the hospital; she remains in critical condition, police said in a press release.

Detectives are searching for a suspect. They do not believe the shooting was random.

Later, around 12:25 p.m., officers responded to a call at an apartment on the 1900 block of Belle Haven Drive, where they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, the department said in a social media post.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene, and police are working to establish suspects and a motive.

The killings mark the latest in a deadly seven-day stretch in Prince George’s County. At least seven people have been killed in the county since Oct. 27, including four on Thursday, Oct. 29.

“We will never lose sight of the human cost of violence,” Chief George Nader said in a Thursday news release. “Even one murder is too many.”
