Bomb threat was ‘unfounded’ after brief investigation near City Hall, police say

A bomb threat and suspicious package investigation near City Hall was “unfounded” on Friday afternoon, Baltimore Police said.

Roads were temporarily closed off downtown after a bomb threat was called in, according to Vernon Davis, a spokesperson for the Baltimore Police Department.

He said officers recovered a bag of clothing at the scene.

A notice sent to Baltimore City employees on Friday afternoon warned of the bomb threat at the War Memorial Plaza. The notice advised them to leave the downtown campus and avoid the plaza area.

No other details were immediately shared.
