Gervonta “Tank” Davis, a former World Boxing Association lightweight champion who grew up in West Baltimore, has settled a lawsuit brought by one of his ex-girlfriends that alleged he assaulted her multiple times during their relationship.
Courtney Rossel, 32, of Miami, filed a civil complaint in 2025 in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court that asserted aggravated battery, false imprisonment and battery.
Rossel reported that Davis attacked her on Oct. 27, 2025, when she was working as a VIP cocktail waitress at Tootsie’s Cabaret, a strip club in Miami. At other times, she claimed, he assaulted, choked and threatened to kill her.
On Thursday, Rossel’s attorney, Richard Wolfe, filed a notice of voluntary dismissal. He acknowledged the case had been settled but declined to discuss the terms.
Davis’ attorney, Richard Bales Jr., could not immediately be reached on Friday for comment.
USA Today first reported on the settlement.
More than two months after Rossel filed her lawsuit, law enforcement obtained an arrest warrant for Davis. The Miami Gardens Police Department and U.S. Marshals Service apprehended him after a two-week search.
Davis, 31, of Parkland, Florida, remains charged with attempted kidnapping and battery. He’s set to appear back in court on Nov. 17 for a status hearing.
He still has an open arrest warrant in Baltimore on allegations that he violated his probation after he pleaded guilty to four traffic offenses in a 2020 hit-and-run that injured four people, including a pregnant woman.
