The Patterson Park Pool was temporarily closed on Saturday because of vandalism, according to the Baltimore City Recreation and Parks.

This is the second time the pool located in the popular East Baltimore park was closed because people damaged the facilities this summer. It’s not clear what happened to close the pool this weekend, but in a separate vandalism incident in June, there was “defecation in the pool and graffiti on the property,” according to parks officials at the time.

It is not clear when the pool will reopen.

There have been other instances since June where vandalism has shuttered pools in Baltimore, including the main pool at Walter P. Carter and Towanda Pool, which was closed during the heatwave on Independence Day weekend.

This is part of a summer trend when some young people hop pools after-hours to go for night swims, trespassing on city property.
