As the Orioles captivated the public’s eye in a series of games against the Blue Jays last week, the team’s owner was preparing for an even bigger event behind closed doors — a wedding.
David Rubenstein not-so-secretly married Caryn Zucker last week in a quiet ceremony at the Supreme Court.
The hush-hush-style ceremony officiated by Chief Justice John Roberts was earlier reported by Axios.
Anthony Powell, who photographed the matrimony, called it the “best-kept wedding secret of the year” in an Instagram post.
“And when I say secret, I mean I didn’t even find out it was a wedding until 15 minutes before it started,” he said.
The decision to get married before the Supreme Court seemed like a subtle flex signaling the rise of a new power couple.
Rubenstein is a co-founder and chairman of the Carlyle Group, one of the largest private equity firms in the world, which is based in Washington, D.C. He took control of the Orioles in 2024 as part of an ownership group that includes Michael Arougheti, Michael Smith, Mitchell Goldstein and Cal Ripken Jr.
Zucker may not oversee a prestigious investment firm, but she reportedly has her own accolades to boast, including jumpstarting her career working for “Saturday Night Live” and currently being an active board member of various cultural organizations in New York City.
