Human remains found in a creek bed along Back River in Baltimore County last week have been identified as those of a New Jersey woman who went missing in Maryland, police said.

Kimberly Gordon, 26, was reported missing in New Jersey at the end of June, according to the Baltimore County Police Department. Her remains were found “badly decomposed” in the water around State Route 702 and Interstate 695 on the morning of July 17, police said.

Gordon was last seen around 2 p.m. June 21 behind Sky Zone on Pulaski Highway, according to a news release from police. She was driving a white 2024 Hyundai Elantra that had a “wide-load” sign and stickers with her name and phone number on the side windows, police said.

Investigators said she may have been involved in a vehicle accident that day and sustained a head injury.
