Baltimore County Police are investigating whether human remains found near a highway in Middle River are those of a New Jersey woman who went missing last month.
Officers with the Parkville precinct were dispatched around 11:25 a.m. Friday to state Route 702 and Interstate 695, where the “badly decomposed” remains were reported around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, according to the police department.
The remains were located in a creek bed of Back River, police said.
Homicide detectives also responded,
Police said Friday night that detectives are seeking to determine whether the remains are those of 46-year-old Kimberly Gordon, who was reported missing from New Jersey and was last seen around 2 p.m. on June 21.
Police said the remains have been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, which will conduct an autopsy to determine the person’s identity and cause of death.
