Three workers were injured in a “possible electrical explosion” at the Medical Center Metro Station in Bethesda on Monday morning, a fire official said.
The incident occurred about 7:45 a.m. and the workers were all hospitalized with injuries that included electrical burns, said Pete Piringer, spokesperson for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.
The workers were in or near an electrical shaft adjacent to the station when the incident occurred. The station remained open.
