At least six people were shot Saturday morning in an industrial area of Anne Arundel County, police said.
Officers responded to reports of a crowd dispersing after a possible shooting around 4:40 a.m. in Hanover at the 1300 block of Charwood Road, according to a news release from the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
One man was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to his torso, according to the news release.
Three hospitals told police there were more victims with gunshot wounds seeking treatment throughout the morning, including two women, one man and two boys, police said.
It’s not clear what led to the shooting or why there was a crowd. Police are investigating.
The shooting unfolded in a large industrial park behind Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
