Maryland residents could face another round of severe weather Sunday afternoon, with forecasters warning that thunderstorms may bring damaging wind gusts of up to 70 mph, large hail and the possibility of isolated tornadoes.

The National Weather Service reported Sunday morning that “lightning, damaging gusty winds, and isolated hail” are possibilities this afternoon and evening for the Mid-Atlantic area.

Brendon Rubin-Oster of the National Weather Service said that while tornadoes are a possibility, there’s a low chance one will occur. What’s more likely are the damaging winds that could take down trees and powerlines.

Sunday’s temperature will get as high as 93 degrees, according to the weather service. The low will be 63 degrees.
