Mennatalla Ibrahim is a Prince George’s County education reporter. She previously covered state politics for The Baltimore Sun, focusing on the Maryland General Assembly. Before that, she reported for Science Magazine, Capital News Service and Bethesda Magazine. Ibrahim, an Egyptian-American, moved frequently growing up and, in 2025, earned her master’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland, where she also holds bachelor’s degrees in communication and public health.
