The Ravens are reportedly picking up the fifth-year option on wide receiver Zay Flowers’ rookie contract, keeping the two-time Pro Bowl selection in Baltimore through at least 2027.
Flowers’ option is worth $27.3 million, though a new deal for the former first-round pick would likely surpass that in average annual value.
Flowers has made himself a prime extension candidate with his first three years in Baltimore. He has 237 catches for 3,128 yards and 16 touchdowns, including an 86-catch season last year amid shaky quarterback play that set a single-season franchise record for receiving yards by a wide receiver (1,211). Only 10 receivers overall have more receiving yards since Flowers was drafted No. 22 overall in 2023.
Flowers, the organization’s first homegrown player to be named a Pro Bowl wide receiver, said earlier this month that he would like to remain in Baltimore.
“Absolutely,” he said. “I don’t want to go nowhere else.”
The market for high-end wide receivers, however, is always booming. In March, Seattle Seahawks star Jaxon Smith-Njigba signed a four-year, $168.6 million contract that made him the NFL’s highest-paid receiver. The deal included over $120 million guaranteed and is worth $42.2 million per year.
“Congrats to him. He did that one,” said Flowers, whom the Ravens drafted just two spots after Smith-Njigba. “I ain’t really paying attention to [my contract], if I’m being honest. I go train every day. I let my agents handle that.”
Flowers is expected to again headline a Ravens receiving corps that could add a piece in this week’s NFL draft and is seeking a turnaround 2026 under new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle. Tight end Mark Andrews (422 receiving yards) and wide receiver Rashod Bateman (224) had disappointing 2025 seasons, and Devontez Walker (136) is still unproven. DeAndre Hopkins (330), meanwhile, remains a free agent.
