With their top three options injured, the Ravens added a second quarterback in as many days Tuesday.

A day after reuniting with Austin Reed, a preseason performer in Baltimore, the Ravens are reportedly signing Kedon Slovis off the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad. Slovis, who has just two career pass attempts in two games, played for Ravens quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork last season, when both were with the Arizona Cardinals.

With quarterback Lamar Jackson (right thumb) headed to injured reserve and backup Tyler Huntley (toe) unlikely to practice this week, undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano is expected to start Thursday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars for the slumping Ravens, who’ve lost three straight.

But Fagnano could be less than fully healthy for his first NFL start. He was estimated to be limited in practice on Monday (the team did not actually take the field but was required by NFL rules to issue an injury report ahead of a Thursday night game) after hurting his ankle in his NFL debut on Sunday, a 36-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills in which he went 10-for-21 for 91 yards and an interception and was sacked three times in three quarters.

“For whoever’s going to be out there, I know they’re going to do what they need to do,” Minter said Monday. “Joe, he’s been here for a while. I have complete faith in him to go out there and play ball. We’ve already seen that. Austin, we have seen him in the preseason as well. You just have to go out there and play ball.”

The arrival of Slovis, who went undrafted in 2024 and has minus-2 passing yards in an NFL career that’s already taken him to five teams, does not preclude a bolder move at the position. If Huntley is expected to be sidelined for weeks, the Ravens could trade for a potential starter ahead of next Tuesday’s trade deadline.
