Get ready for pupusas, pizza, barbecue, tacos, lobster rolls, soul food and more — and remember to save room for dessert.
Celebrating its 30th year, Taste of Wheaton is back this weekend to promote the best of local restaurants and food trucks in the area.
After a record number of submissions, Sunday’s lineup features 32 food vendors, including Taqueria Sabor Mixteco, Rhuths African Kitchen and Silver Branch Brewing, which is set to open a location next year at the Maryland-National Park and Planning Commission Wheaton Headquarters Building.
“We tend to see the diversity of food establishments that we have there,” said Naddia Clute, interim director of the Mid-County Regional Services Center. “We bring food, culture and community together.”
When guests are sufficiently full, they can also browse the wares of local artisans, listen to live music and take kids to get free balloon animals and face paint.

“Come prepared to have a full day of fun, whether you’re coming with your significant other or with family and kids,” Clute said. “This is an event that is for everyone.”
