St. Patrick’s Day is next Tuesday, and for many, that means throwing on some green, raising a pint and enjoying corned beef and cabbage.

While the usual traditions can be great craic, Baltimore County also offers some offbeat ways to celebrate Irish heritage, from visiting a goat farm to exploring a haunted house (yes, in March).

Here are seven Celtic-inspired events for the week ending Wednesday, March 18.

There isn’t a more fitting time to visit Guinness Open Gate Brewery. As you might expect, the Halethorpe offshoot of the centuries-old Dublin brewery will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day pretty much all week.

Thursday features a jigs and swigs introductory Irish dance class. Friday through Sunday, check out the food stalls, limited edition merchandise, beer specials and live music at the Irish village.

The village also will be open Tuesday. Some food and beer events require tickets.
