Prince George’s Fashion Week rescheduled

Prince George’s Fashion Week was supposed to begin Wednesday night and run through Friday at New Carrollton’s Metro Points Hotel, according to an Aug. 21 news release from County Executive Aisha Braveboy’s office.

But at 5:29 p.m. Braveboy’s office rescheduled the inaugural event until Nov. 5-6 at the same location.

“Given the popularity and increased attention surrounding this highly anticipated inaugural event, Prince George’s County Fashion Week (PGCFW) now has brand‑new dates perfectly timed to give our designers, models, and fashion lovers a more elevated experience," her office said.

At the time of the August announcement, details were not made available to The Banner or the public. Few details have emerged since then, and the news release issued Wednesday evening provided no additional information about programming or what attendees can expect in November.

County officials previously sent a callout to designers and sponsors for the festivities and sold tickets that started at $50. Links to these tickets were inaccessible at the time of publishing, but the county is still advertising sponsorship opportunities from $2,500 to $35,000.

“The event is now free for designers and the public and will issue refunds,” the news release said.
