Howard County Police are investigating a shooting inside a Shell gas station Friday evening that left an employee seriously injured.

Officers responded to the Shell station in the 7200 block of Cradlerock Way for reports of gunfire just before 8 p.m.

An adult male employee was shot and taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries, according to police.

Detectives said the shooting appears to have happened during an attempted robbery. A woman wearing a black dress and slides allegedly fired shots before fleeing. No other injuries were reported.

Police released photos of the suspect but had no additional details.

The Shell station is located at the Owen Brown Village Center and directly across from a McDonald’s.
