The security guard remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police said the incident was isolated and there was no danger to the public.

The investigation is ongoing.

It was business as usual late Sunday morning for many at the strip mall where the restaurant is located as people flowed to and from the parking lot to nearby stores for groceries and shopping.

A man working in the smoke shop a couple of doors down said he had heard an ambulance pull into the plaza around 1:20 a.m. but didn’t look outside to see what was going on.

It wasn’t until he left the store around 2 a.m. that he saw several cop cars in front of the Crackpot and a few people standing inside of a taped off perimeter.
