Montgomery County authorities identified the victim of a hit-and-run this week as 62-year-old Saijuan Chen of Rockville.

Police said in a statement Friday that they located a vehicle and its driver in connection with the incident but did not release any information about an arrest or charges.

A witness gave police a description of a Jeep and its license plate.

The initial investigation showed Chen was crossing Arctic Avenue when she was struck by a green 2023 Jeep Wrangler, which was making a left turn onto Arctic Avenue from Bel Pre Road.

Officers responded to the area, which is west of Leisure World, at about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday and found Chen suffering from serious injuries.

She was transported to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
