A Maryland Transit Administration bus collided with a work van in Baltimore on Wednesday afternoon, hospitalizing a dozen people, fire officials said.
Emergency crews responded to the report of an accident at 1:03 p.m. at the intersection of West Baltimore and North Monroe streets, said Veobia Akilo, a spokesperson for the Baltimore City Fire Department.
The medics who responded requested additional help, bringing a total of seven medic units to the scene, Akilo said.
Those units transported 12 people to hospitals, while two others at the scene refused to be treated.
There have been at least two other crashes involving MTA buses this year.
Eight people were hospitalized in March after a bus collided with two cars in Mid-Town-Belvedere. A 33-year-old woman died and two others were injured in a four-vehicle crash involving an MTA bus in Anne Arundel County in May.
