A 51-year-old man died after his motorcycle collided with a transit bus in Glen Burnie on Friday, police said.

Officers responded to the crash around noon on Ritchie Highway at Holsum Way, according to a news release from the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

The driver of the Ford E450 transit bus was turning left onto Holsum Way from the highway on a green signal when the driver of the 2005 Suzuki motorcycle struck the side of the bus, according to the news release. The bus was empty and the driver, a 39-year-old woman, was not injured, police said.

The driver of the motorcycle was riding at a β€œhigh rate of speed,” the news release said. His name was not immediately released.

Anne Arundel County Police are investigating.
