A 70-year-old Millersville man died Wednesday after he lost control of the motorcycle he was driving and was struck by a pickup truck, Anne Arundel County Police said.

The motorcyclist was identified as Charles D. Braun. Police said he was driving northbound on Veterans Highway near Brightview Drive around 3 p.m. Wednesday, when he attempted to change lanes on β€œuneven pavement.”

Braun lost control of his 1982 Yamaha and was thrown from it into the path of a Chevrolet pickup truck, police said. Braun was taken to a hospital with β€œserious” injuries before he was declared dead.

Police did not identify the driver of the truck, but said he is a 29-year-old from Columbia. Police said the Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
