A 78-year-old pedestrian died after being pinned under a vehicle on Friday evening in Dundalk, police said.
Mark Hoerner was found beneath the vehicle following the crash around 6:40 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of Merritt Boulevard and Wise Avenue, according to a news release from the Baltimore County Police Department.
Hoerner was taken to a hospital, where he died, the release said.
Investigators said a vehicle involved in the crash was a 2014 Toyota Prius. The driver was traveling northbound. The driver and the two passengers in the Prius were not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
The six-lane intersection in the center of Dundalk is surrounded by retailers and restaurants. The fatal crash comes one week after a woman was hit by a car while attempting to cross the street in Northwest Baltimore County. She later died in a hospital.
This is the fifth fatal pedestrian crash in Baltimore County this year.
