Baltimore City transportation officials announced that four new traffic cameras will be posted near schools as early as Wednesday, May 20.

Drivers captured driving 12 or more miles over the speed limit could face fines of $40 to $425 as the city works to reduce speeding around schools, according to a news release from the Baltimore City Department of Transportation. Speeding cameras around school zones will be active between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. all year, transportation officials said.

Here’s where the new cameras will be posted:

  • 2200-2800 blocks of Orleans Street (Tench Tilghman Elementary/Middle School)
  • 100-300 blocks of North Hilton Avenue (Green Street Academy)
  • 5700 block of North Charles Street (Redeemer Paris Day School)
  • 300 block of East 29th Street (Barclay Elementary School)

Earlier this year, officials announced that there would be traffic cameras near five locations to catch violations in bus lanes.
