A North Carolina man who was accused of urinating on a family, including an 8-year-old girl, at a Morgan Wallen concert in Baltimore last month has been extradited to Maryland, online court records show.
Jayson Reed is being held without bail after a court appearance Tuesday morning, according to online court records. He faces four counts of second-degree assault; four counts of indecent exposure; and one count each for disorderly conduct, public intoxication and urinating in public, according to charging documents.
Reed, 33, was arrested by deputies in Wilson County, North Carolina, following an investigation by the Maryland Transportation Authority Police, the agency said in a news release last week.
The charges stem from a July 18 incident in which Reed allegedly dropped his pants and urinated on four members of a family seated in front of him, including Troy Grevelding, the girl’s uncle. Grevelding later posted video that went viral showing his unsuccessful efforts to get law enforcement officers to arrest the man, who was escorted from M&T Bank Stadium.
One officer told Grevelding that he would get the man’s name and information for Grevelding to file charges with the court commissioner, video shows. But charging documents indicate MDTA Police opened an assault investigation shortly after Grevelding complained.
“Officers initially encountered a chaotic scene and obtained limited information,” Clinton Kelly, a spokesperson for the MDTA Police, said last week. “The victim was then referred to the Court Commissioner’s Office but as officers learned that the suspect had allegedly committed multiple misdemeanor offenses outside of the officers’ presence an investigation was opened that night. Because the offenses were committed outside of the officers’ presence, the officers could not arrest the suspect without first obtaining a warrant.”

The most severe charge, second-degree assault, carries a penalty of up to 10 years of incarceration or a $2,500 fine. Reed had no attorney listed in Maryland court records, and a lawyer who was representing him in North Carolina did not respond to a request for comment.
Reed is on probation in Virginia for a 2025 drug possession conviction. He has a lengthy criminal record in Virginia with convictions related to drugs, guns and credit card fraud, as well as traffic infractions.
He was last week on a fugitive warrant in Eastern North Carolina, according to court records from that state. The records show he waived his right to fight extradition to Maryland.
A booking photo provided by the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office shows a bearded Reed with a short haircut. He appears to be wearing an orange jail shirt, unbuttoned to reveal a tattoo on his neck.
The black ink reads “Mama Tried,” an apparent reference to outlaw country singer Merle Haggard’s song by the same name. In the autobiographical tune, Haggard tells about running afoul of the law in his adolescence, breaking his hard-working mother’s heart. Haggard sings in the chorus, “I turned twenty-one in prison doin’ life without parole | No one could steer me right but Mama tried, Mama tried.”
