Baltimore City Fire personnel contained a two-alarm blaze in the St. Paul neighborhood Thursday night that sent black smoke plummeting over the city, seen by people downtown and in Federal Hill.
Firefighters were dispatched to the 2200 block of Langley Street just before 6:40 p.m. Thursday for an exterior fire at a business that spread to a two-story home, department spokesperson Rashad Singletary said in an email.
Firefighters contained the fire and prevented it from spreading onto the nearby railroad tracks.
No one was injured in the fire, officials said. Though the cause is under investigation, officials said propane materials and gasoline were involved.
The Maryland Department of the Environment was requested to respond to the scene due to the involvement of hazardous materials.
