Prince George’s County Police said they are investigating the fatal Friday shooting of a 16-year-old Silver Spring resident at Langley Park Community Center.

Around 1:30 p.m. on June 26, police responded to a call on the 1500 block of Merrimac Drive in Langley Park. They found a victim, identified by police as Angel Guzman, outside the community center; he was suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is the third fatal shooting of a teenager in the county this month, according to police reports. On June 15, 16-year-old Hyattsville resident Ruben Arevalo Saavedra was killed in Brentwood. Daijah Cherry, 18, of Washington, D.C., was killed on June 19 in Capitol Heights.

Police said they are working to determine a motive and identify suspects in Friday’s shooting and that they don’t believe this was a random crime. A cash reward is being offered for information related to the case.
