Prince George’s County Police said they arrested and charged two 16-year-olds from Mount Rainier on Thursday in connection with the fatal shooting of a Hyattsville teenager this month.

Ruben Arevalo Saavedra, 16, was shot June 12 in the 3700 block of Shepherd Street in Brentwood. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators said the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute and that the suspects and victim knew each other. Both teens are being charged as adults with first- and second-degree murder, along with related crimes, police said. They are held without bond at the county’s Department of Corrections.
