Montgomery County Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect — captured in a video — in the shooting death of a resident at an upscale senior home in Potomac.

Robert Fuller Jr.‘s body was found on Valentine’s Day morning with a gunshot wound to the head in his apartment at the Cogir of Potomac senior living facility.

A video police released Friday shows the suspect with long dark hair from the back, wearing a flannel-type shirt and dark pants.

“At this time, there is no clear description of the suspect’s gender or race. The person shown in the video could be male or female,” police said.

Investigators urge anyone who may recognize the suspect’s clothing, or who can identify any distinguishing characteristics, including the person’s gait, to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773- 5070 or Crime Solvers of Montgomery County.

Fuller practiced law in Maine for more than three decades and moved to Potomac to be closer to family. He was also known for his philanthropy and wrote a self-published novel about murder called “Unnatural Deaths.”

Cogir of Potomac advertises itself on its website as a tight-knit, upscale community where residents shape its programs, including bingo nights and nature walks. Residents’ monthly costs range from $6,169 to $12,850.

The facility offers a range of apartments, from 400-square-foot studios to two-bedroom units more than twice that size.

A spokesperson for Cogir has said it’s cooperating with police and that its top priority is the safety of its residents.
