Montgomery County Police arrested a 27-year-old Gaithersburg man for allegedly stealing items from a Bethesda home where he was working as a professional organizer.

Aissa Mahdi Ould Brahim is charged with one count of theft of $25,000 to under $100,000, police said on Wednesday. Police warned that he may also have stolen items from other clients.

According to police, Brahim was working at a Bethesda home in the 5000 block of Del Ray Avenue on Jan. 22 when the victim left to pick up her child. Brahim left for the day shortly after she returned, police said.

She noticed a gold necklace was missing and filed a report with the police, who learned it was sold on Facebook Marketplace. The buyer returned it to the owner after learning it was stolen, police said.

Brahim is also accused of stealing clothes, gift cards and cash from the home.

Police said a search warrant was executed at Brahim’s home, “where items of evidentiary value were recovered.”

Brahim was arrested on Feb. 4 and released on a $7,500 unsecured personal bond.

It was unclear on Wednesday afternoon whether he had retained an attorney.
