If you’re heading to Camden Yards this evening, pack a poncho.
Rain showers and potential thunderstorms could disrupt any plans outdoors on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Luis Rosa, a meteorologist with the weather service, said Marylanders can expect a “gray day” ahead, though no severe storms.
Showers will be on and off throughout the morning, said Rosa, with a small break in the late morning and early afternoon. Starting in the mid-afternoon, some thunderstorms could roll in, potentially delaying the Baltimore Orioles game.
Another weather front of storms could roll over the Appalachian Mountains around 10 p.m., bringing some heavy rain through midnight, said Rosa. Showers could pour about a quarter of an inch of rain overnight, according to the weather service.
Sunday should be drier and warmer with a high of 85 degrees. The sun should peek out throughout the day as well.

A calm weekend in a storm-packed summer
The summer in Maryland has been filled with severe storms, flooding and at least 11 tornadoes, higher than the average number of eight.
It’s not just Maryland — this summer has been more active for tornadoes nationwide, according to Storm Prediction Center data.
Storms in the state alone have toppled trees and power lines, cutting power to tens of thousands of Marylanders for hours and shutting down roads.
But as temperatures drop and the air gets drier this month, the severe weather threat should start to weaken.
