Ravens-Orioles doubleheader forecast: Temps in upper 80s, thunderstorms possible at night

Ravens fans, you are in the clear when it comes to rain on Sunday. But Orioles fans might not have the same luck.

While the Ravens-Orioles doubleheader is expected to start off dry, rain and thunderstorms could dampen the fun at Camden Yards later in the evening, said Luis Rosa, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

Cloudy skies will hover over M&T Bank Stadium as the Ravens kick off against the New Orleans Saints at 1 p.m., Rosa said.

But don’t let the lack of sun fool you, temperatures could hit the upper-80s on Sunday for the nearly 100,000 sports fans expected to converge on downtown Baltimore.

The risk of rain will start to increase closer to sunset, he said, right around the same time the Orioles start their game against the Milwaukee Brewers at 7:20 p.m. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms, but Rosa said they are not expected to be severe.

Still, lightning could delay the game, so prepare for a potentially long evening if you’re going to watch one of the Orioles’ final games of the season.

Rain showers are expected to stick around all evening and throughout the week, said Rosa. There will also be a “drastic cool down” next week, dipping into the 50s at times, as we head into the autumn season, he added.
