Marijke

Marijke Friedman is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland. She was born and raised in Silver Spring. During her time at the University of Maryland, she studied journalism and government and served as the news editor of The Diamondback, the campus newspaper. She has also worked for The Texas Tribune, the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism, Capital News Service, the USA Today Network's Design Center and Montgomery Community Media. She will report to the Capital Region desk at The Banner through a partnership with the MDDC Press Association.
