A man was killed in a suspected road rage incident near MGM National Harbor on Thursday night, and a suspect is in custody, Prince George’s County Police said.

Officers responded to a shooting near MGM National and Monument avenues around 11:10 p.m. They found Christopher Austin Jr., 33, of Alexandria, Virginia, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside his autocycle, a motorized three-wheeled vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tyrell Hairston, 36, and Austin were both in line to exit the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino parking garage when an argument broke out, police said. A preliminary investigation found that Hairston initiated an argument with Austin before approaching Austin’s vehicle and shooting him. Austin then drove away and crashed nearby.

Hairston, who lives in Accokeek, called police shortly after the shooting to turn himself in, police said. He is in custody at the county’s Department of Corrections.
