    Ed Reed leaving Bethune-Cookman after contract falls through
    The Ed Reed Foundation announced on social media Saturday that the university declined to ratify Reed’s contract.

    No. 20 Maryland women’s basketball earns first-ever victory over No. 6 Connecticut
    The Maryland women’s basketball team had racked up a decade’s worth of losses to Connecticut. But on Sunday, the Terrapins ended their losing streak against the sport’s most storied program by encountering the Huskies at just the right time. Before a lively crowd of more than 12,500 at XFINITY Center, the No. 20 Terrapins recorded an 85-78 win over a No. 6 Huskies squad that was severely depleted by injuries.

    Navy’s Ken Niumatalolo out after 15 seasons as coach
    Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo is out after 15 seasons at the helm. The academy announced Sunday that Niumatalolo would not return — a day after the Midshipmen lost to Army in overtime and finished 4-8 for the second straight year. Niumatalolo is the winningest coach in school history at 109-83, but after going 11-2 in 2019, Navy hasn’t finished above .500 since.

    Hey Army-Navy, Congress says none of you can go pro — just yet
    Two days before the 123rd football classic in Philly, the House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act, which bars service academy athletes from turning pro until two years after graduation.
    Navy will wear NASA-themed uniforms Saturday during the game with Army.  Congress has passed a rule that none of this year's graduating service academy athletes can go pro for two years.
