    Search for suspect in Rachel Morin’s killing is over, after an arrest at an Oklahoma bar
    Victor Martinez Hernandez has been arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the August murder of Rachel Morin, a Harford County mother of five. Morin was killed after going for a run on Ma & Pa Heritage Trail on a summer evening.

    At age 50, National History Day keeps pushing students to seek difficult truths through research
    This year’s theme, “Turning Points in History,” asked students to explore ideas or events that sparked change. More than 2,800 finalists reached the national competition after months spent visiting libraries and poring over primary sources. Contestants lined University of Maryland hallways this week as they eagerly waited to present trifold exhibits, documentaries and even theatrical performances.

    Person dies after being attacked by group of stray dogs in West Baltimore

    Laurel man sentenced to 37 months for conspiring to ship stolen cars to West Africa
    According to a press release from the Maryland U.S. Attorney’s Office, Rodley Balthazar, 30, a Haitian citizen residing in Maryland, worked with others to rent and steal cars from companies such as Avis, Hertz, and others.
    A Laurel man was sentenced to 37 months in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release, for conspiring to steal and export cars to West Africa.
