    Judge denies bail for teacher and law student accused of sexually assaulting 12-year-old
    Maryland District Court Judge Marsha Russell declined to release Laury, who will await trial in the Baltimore County Detention Center. Russell deemed Laury a threat to the public based on the charges and the alleged sexual contact with a minor.

    Harford County grand jury indicts man in killing of Rachel Morin on Ma & Pa Heritage Trail
    Victor Martinez-Hernandez, 23, is charged with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree rape, third-degree sex offense and kidnapping. He’s being held without bail in the Harford County Detention Center.
    A Harford County grand jury on Tuesday indicted Victor Martinez-Hernandez, 23, on charges of first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree rape, third-degree sex offense and kidnapping in the killing of Rachel Morin, a 37-year-old mother of five, which happened in 2023.

    Police said they believe the shooting was accidental, and they do not believe that anyone outside of the home was involved nor did they find “any indications of foul play.”

    The circumstances surrounding the deaths of Parkville’s Maxine Redfern and Arnel Redfern were considered by the attorney general for intentional use of excessive force, voluntary manslaughter and involuntary manslaughter.

    Tyrone Jones served 10 years for a crime he says he didn’t commit. He could finally see compensation.
    In 1999, Jones was found guilty in Baltimore Circuit Court of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder — a crime he maintains that he did not commit — and sentenced to life in prison. But an administrative law judge later ruled that he ineligible for compensation and benefits because the crime was a misdemeanor, not a felony, at the time in Maryland.

Prosecutors agreed that he was entitled to a new trial in 2010 and, several months later, dropped the case.     Authorities say Anthony Jacob Fritz, 38, faces two charges after he allegedly threatened to blow up an MVA building where he worked in Hagerstown. The state fire marshal's office says it found 26 guns and dozens of boxes of ammo during a search of his home.
