Ravens star outside linebacker Trey Hendrickson will miss Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans after undergoing an operation on a broken finger, coach Jesse Minter announced Friday.

“Very, very short term,” Minter said of Hendrickson’s expected absence. “But just in a quick way to get that fixed and get him back, we think that’s going to best for us moving forward long term.”

Hendrickson, who has a sack and leads the team in pressures, appeared to hurt his right hand in the Ravens’ season opener. He was limited in practice the past two weeks but was active for the Week 2 loss to the New Orleans Saints and the win Sunday over the Dallas Cowboys, wearing protective gear in both games.

Minter indicated that Hendrickson’s absence would not be for long. The Ravens play the Atlanta Falcons next weekend and the Cleveland Browns in Week 5.

With Hendrickson sidelined, the Ravens will rely more on starter Tavius Robinson and top reserves Mike Green and Zion Young. Rookie Ethan Burke, primarily a special teams contributor through three weeks, is also expected to earn defensive snaps.

Hendrickson, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, signed a four-year deal with the Ravens this offseason worth up to $120 million.
