Ravens star wide receiver Zay Flowers left practice early Saturday with a leg injury following a collision with safety Jaylinn Hawkins.

After practice, head coach Jesse Minter said that Flowers’ injury was a quad contusion and that he is considered day-to-day. The injury came on quarterback Lamar Jackson’s third dropback during the seven-on-seven period. The signal caller connected with Flowers on an in-route but the receiver’s momentum took him right into Hawkins, who was unable to pull out of the contact.

Flowers went to the ground before limping off to the side. There, trainers attended to Flowers as he grabbed at his left knee and upper left leg area. At around 12:15 p.m., the fourth-year wide receiver limped off the field and into the team facility.

The news comes just four days after Flowers signed a four-year, $140 million contract extension that keeps the two-time Pro Bowler in Baltimore through 2031. Flowers has earned the pay day after finishing the 2025 season with 86 receptions and 1,211 receiving yards.

With 3,128 career receiving yards, Flowers is already sitting at fifth in franchise history despite playing just three seasons.

Since joining the Ravens, Flowers has also been one of Jackson’s go-to targets. As South Florida natives, the two have consistently spent the offseason working out together and that connection has shown on the field. Last year, Flowers posted a career-high target-share of 29%.

Fortunately for the Ravens, Flowers’ injury does not seem significant and the team expects its No. 1 receiver to return to the field in short order.
