ARLINGTON, Texas — Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was carted off the field in an air cast after falling awkwardly against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
Daniels has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.
The quarterback was handing the ball off when he tripped on an offensive lineman’s foot. As he braced his fall, his left elbow overextended.
Daniels briefly tried to run to the sideline as the first half expired but fell to the turf. Commanders medical staff quickly braced the arm and called for a cart.
Daniels missed most of last season with injuries, including a dislocated left elbow. That injury occurred in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks. Daniels missed the next three games, attempted to return and aggravated the elbow in Week 14. He did not play again.
