A woman died after driving a car into a cable barrier at the entrance of a Rockville parking garage on Monday, Montgomery County Police said.

The adult male passenger in the car, a Toyota RAV4, was transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded at about 5:30 p.m. to the garage, in the 11300 block of Woodglen Drive, and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

The police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the single-vehicle crash and will release the identity of the deceased woman after her family is notified.
